Cream Rugs

Rugs that begin with cream and ivory, and then each adds something of its own: a pebbled surface, a little taupe, a golden thread or a scatter of oatmeal flecks.

Choosing a cream rug

Halcyon is the plainest of them. Its rounded cream loops sit in a close, even pattern, and the soft shadow between them gives a pale surface its depth. Sunlit mixes creamy ivory loops with sandy golden threads; up close you see the small variations, and from across the room it reads as one warm, light whole with a gentle sheen.

Vesper and Daybreak bring in a second tone. Vesper nestles pale taupe between even rows of ivory loops for a gentle contrast. Daybreak scatters little flecks of oatmeal through its ivory, calm from a distance and full of small details nearer.

Like any wool-blend pile, each changes a little with the direction of the light, so the same rug can look brighter by a window and softer under a lamp.

Which cream rugs are there, and how do their creams and textures differ?
  • Halcyon: a quiet cream with a finely pebbled texture
  • Sunlit: creamy ivory and sandy gold, finely textured with a gentle sheen
  • Vesper: ivory rows with pale taupe between, a corded surface
  • Daybreak: ivory flecked with oatmeal, flecked and pebbled
Is there an ivory rug, and how pale is it in a real room?

Vesper and Daybreak have ivory loops, and Sunlit’s are creamy ivory. For the lightest look, Halcyon and Sunlit both have pale surfaces.

No screen shows colour exactly as your room will, and our photographs were lit differently from your home, so a cream can read warmer or cooler once it is down. If you would like help choosing between them, contact us.

How do I look after a pale rug?

Vacuum it about once a week with suction only. If something spills, act fast: lift anything solid, then blot gently with a clean white cloth, working in from the edge of the mark, and never rub. Once every 12–18 months is enough for most homes to have it deep cleaned, by a rug professional experienced with wool. More in Help.
